Our History
Meet the man who started it all! Larry Holbert was a Texas native and oil businessman who moved to Lafayette in the late ’70s. By 1983, Larry was comfortably residing in Acadiana and opened Holbert Steel in Broussard, Louisiana. He knew that Broussard was the hub and began gaining trust from local to national businesses. Mr. Larry stayed active in the Acadiana community, by donating his time and money to numerous causes. At work, he taught his employees that with complete honesty, outstanding service, and great integrity is the key to a successful company. He always use to say, “Anyone can sell steel. We sell service!” On April 23, 2016 Larry Holbert passed away, leaving his friends and family with memories to last a lifetime. He was such an admirable person and always went beyond his call of duty.
Today Holbert Steel has continued Mr. Larry’s legacy and is presently one of the top steel business in the south! We continue to supply 3,000-plus combinations of round bar solid, trepan and tube steel in more than 14 grades.
